I am a Dutch poet and was born in the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands. I trained as a scientist and spent my working life in the development of scientific instruments. I am now retired. I made my home in the UK in the early eighties and have lived in Kenilworth in Warwickshire since 1990.
I wrote my first poems (in Dutch) in the mid sixties and continued to write for well over a decade until my muse decided to go into hibernation. At the beginning of the twenty-first century I rediscovered my drive to write, now adopting English as the vehicle for my poetry.
On this site I will regularly post poems in Poetry Blog. Small collections of poems with a more or less common theme can be found in Poetry Bundles. I am also a keen photographer (see my photography website here) and occasionally combine these two creative interests by writing poems to go with my pictures or vice versa. Examples of this you’ll find in Poetry on Pictures.
